English petition right to be forgotten

We believe this is a violation of privacy when many Internet services or tech companies do not allow you to delete your account. According to the right to be forgotten, this is a fundamental violation of citizenship rights. Given the rapid and growing digital space, the right to be forgotten must be recognized by all services around the world. It is our natural and human right to own and decide on our information and data in today's digital world. Having something like GDPR is essential for all countries, including Iran, so that we can safely say whenever we want:

• I want to be deleted.
• They should be burned without exception.

What is the right to be forgotten on the Internet?

The right to have private information and the right to be forgotten about a person who is removed from Internet search engines and other listings under certain conditions. This concept has been discussed and implemented in the EU and Argentina since 2006. It arises from the desire of individuals to determine the progress of their lives in an independent way. This is without stigmatizing themselves permanently or periodically because of a particular action performed in the past.

What is the status of the right to be forgotten in Iran?

The right to be forgotten is inappropriate in Iran. Deleting an account on Iranian sites and applications is very difficult and often impossible. Of course, the rules in this area also affect the services, but in general, with different methods, platforms can start giving this right to their users.

Note that by giving users basic rights, none of the businesses will lose anything, but will become more popular among their users. You may say to yourself that the status of deleting an account can be seen on a website/application. We would not use it if it did not have this right, but this was a time when our lives were not connected to the Internet. There is no place to say, "We do not use," but to ask, "Where is our right?"
